Basic Physical Elements of Golf Performance:*
- This detailed, 25-test starting-point is designed to 1) ascertain whether a player has the necessary mobility, stability, and coordination to create an efficient swing, while 2) simultaneously identifying underlying issues that can ultimately lead to injury. This evaluation helps the trainer create a detailed exercise prescription for both improved overall health and peak golf performance. It also helps the student and the Teaching Professional understand the type of swing style that makes the most sense for the player, while reducing risk of injury. The club highly recommends all GBNYC members have this assessment done whether or not they plan on embarking on an ongoing exercise/wellness program. *Fitness Assessment complimentary with membership annually
Advanced Physical Elements of Golf Performance:
- This evaluation is performed after a player has achieved the needed mobility, stability, and coordination to promote an efficient swing and be at low risk for injury. During this process, measurements of strength, power, and dynamic stability are used to determine the player’s distance potential.
3-Dimensional Biomechanical Evaluations:
- This is the most advanced evaluation available, commonly used by Tour Players and their coaches to understand the golfer’s body motion during the swing. Comparable to an MRI of the golf swing, the 3-D evaluation processes layers of information, including body positions, joint angles, kinematic sequencing (an efficiency measure), segment rotations and velocities. Of equal importance to golf longevity, 3-D evaluations also can see where undo stress is being put on the body, helping prevent injury. This technology, used in conjunction with insightful physical evaluation(s) and TrackMan data, is the ultimate combination of information, enable the golfer to create a safe, repeatable swing, reduce the risk of injury, and reach one’s golfing goals. (Cannot be performed on anyone with a pacemaker.)
